YORKSHIRE CASE STUDY of a passive house
Green Building Store is a local supplier of passive house products and supporter for energy efficient homes. Green Building Store designed and built a successful Yorkshire based development.
LOCALLY SOURCED MATERIALS
The project is mostly faced with Yorkshire stone, mixed with timber cladding on certain aspects and a huge bay window.
PASSIVE HOUSE CONSTRUCTION
Built from block and stone with timber clad, the house is a shining example that passive homes can be versatile and built from materials that suit the region and developer.
SOUTH ORIENTATION
The house was originally passed for planning before consideration to make it an “eco-home”. With a few tweaks and re-orientated to the south, it was suitable to accommodate the passive house principles.
PASSIVE AWARDS
The Golcar project made it to the finals of the prestigious UK Passivhaus Awards 2016, the equivalent of the energy efficiency oscars!
